The Northeastern Syntherid Research Group (NESRG) specializes in the taxonomy of class Tunifilida (“Twisty Ties”) and other various microsyntherids. In particular, we focus on class Complectocaulia.
We also hold a growing collection of syntherids including Occlupanids.
Class Tunifilida are a group of extremely common syntherids often found associated with occlupanids. We’ve developed a taxonomic system for their classification and have provided a list of current species and their basic descriptions (in progress!).

Class Complectocaulia are a group of heavily under-researched pseudo-occlupanid found almost entirely on the stakes of plants and aerosol cans. Please keep your eye out for them!
